KEITH COLLEA
Filmmaker and 3D expert Keith Collea got his start in show business as the leader of a modern dance troop. After traveling the world as a performance artist, he moved to Hollywood where his talents as a performer, combined with his college studies in the sciences, film and engineering, paved his way to a career in 3D.
His first practical experience with 3D began in 2003 when he worked as a DIT for VINCE PACE on a James Cameron project and he quickly advanced becoming the first person to shoot a feature film with Element Technica's Quasar 3D rig. Keith continues to stay ahead of the curve in all 3D technology and has since supervised 3D projects for the Shanghai Expo World's Fair, The World Cup, Disney, and Sony Pictures Entertainment, plus several music videos, narrative features, and commercials

Stereo 3D Production on a Limited Budget
Filmmaker and 3D expert Keith Collea began his 3D training on set with Vince Pace and James Cameron in 2003, and quickly advanced to becoming the first person to shoot a feature film with Element Technica's Quasar 3D rig. Keith continues to stay ahead of the curve in all aspects of 3D production and has been involved in 3D projects of various scopes and budgets from feature film with “Pirates of the Caribbean 3D,” to independent films with “The Mortician,” and commercials for Volkswagen and DKNY. In this session Keith will present a range of methods for devising practical, effective and resourceful Stereo 3D production pipelines for shows operating on a limited budget. Keith will address key pre-production elements (3D depth scripts, location preparation and crew training), production processes (consistency in 3D depth, protecting 3D parallaxes, calculating convergence and technology infrastructure) and also touch on stereo post-production workflows to ensure successful forays into this exciting creative medium.
Key Takeaway: Prospective 3D filmmakers attending this session will walk away with the practical know how, equipment list, production-proven workflow options and approach for tackling 3D stereo productions on a limited budget.
